Kolob Canyons

Impressive!

Kolob Canyons are located just south of Cedar City off of I-15, which was on our way to St. George. These soaring cliffs of red Navajo sandstone with finger and deep pocket canyons marveled us yet again (see our Cedar Breaks post). Technically part of Zion National Park, this stunningly scenic drive was peaceful and serene and not nearly as busy as the main portion of the park. As Sarah and I contemplated the grandeur of this geologic masterpiece, the girls were more than thrilled to encounter some common bugs (spiders and ants) in the parking lot.

Honestly, what does this rock formation remind you of?
