Folsom, CA

An Afternoon in Folsom

We went to Folsom this afternoon so that Sarah could get a hair cut (check out the result further down). While the rest of us (Grandma Round, me, Audrey, and Kate) were waiting we walked about historic Folsom and visited Folsom Park.

Kate thought the skeleton at this chiropractor was scary, while Audrey noticed it's summer attire.

Historic Folsom

This frog, which cost just over $500, was outside of an art gallery. Audrey posed for the photo while Kate was just being her goofy self.

Here we are at Snook's having some good old fashioned ice cream. Audrey chose some type of Strawberry flavor, Grandma and I had Raspberry Sorbet, and Kate had Vanilla. Audrey tried grandma's and decided, part way through her own, that she wanted it instead. Grandma was nice and acquiesced - lucky girl!

By the time we got to Folsom Park Kate had fallen asleep. So Grandma and Audrey went to check out the zoo, while I held a sleeping Kate at the park.

When Audrey and Grandma made it to the park, Kate woke up and the girls decided to hit the playground and chase the wild chickens.

Yeah, just watching the spinning makes me sick too! For you older folks, close your eyes and look away from the screen if you experience any symptoms of dizziness or nausea.

Kate couldn't keep away from the chickens, but once they had her surrounded she grew a little cautious. Check out her video clips with the chickens.

On a sad note, the poor howbeit friendly hen in these video clips was taken advantage of by an aggressive rooster. It chased her down and pinned her to the ground. Sheryl started yelling at the rooster , as it pecked the hen, and telling it to stop being so mean. Someone nearby mentioned to her that it's mating season amongst the chicken population. Moments later, the rooster was near Audrey when she kicked it's rear end and told it to "just calm down."

Here's the result of Sarah's hair cut. I like it, but more importantly she likes it and that's what counts. When she asked the girls what they thought this was their reaction - stunned silence.

Finally Audrey said, "I thought it would be straight, with a bow in it." Thanks for speaking your mind Audrey.
