Mapping Ants, Part II

40 Miles East of Moab

I was back in Moab, for UEA weekend, as part of GMAP, a GIS/GPS experience that we take teachers from around the state through each Fall. This year we were back helping one of the U's Entomologists map ants.

A panoramic view.

My friends, Mindy & Leslie!

My ant mapping group - Aaron & Adam.

This is how we tagged the ant hills (along w/ GPS coordinates).

Professor Don Feener, sharing the data from the past two years.

My scenic drive out.

Like my previous two trips to Rio Mesa, I enjoyed meeting new teachers, making new friends, reacquainting myself w/ old friends, learning new things, and spending some time in the Utah desert!
