We had a district-planned activity today at my school and weren't really informed as to what was going on. When the fourth graders got to the gym we were treated to a motivational speech on being active, getting exercise, and choosing to live a healthy lifestyle by Olympic gold medalist (from the Salt Lake Winter games 2002), Derek Parra. He generously passed his medals around for all the students to touch and was gracious enough to take a photo with me as well. Never dreamed of having the opportunity to actually hold an Olympic gold medal - Cool!

Hey, thanks for the book recommendations. Tatjana has read a few of the series, so we are excited to throw some more books at her. You guys look great! Especially in the tie-dyes.
